Dame Dash is ready to sit down with Jay-Z, but only under one condition.
During a recent conversation on The CEO Show, Dame was asked about his relationship with Hov. Surprisingly, the mogul admitted that he is “willing to have a conversation” with him but only if they can “talk about the people that didn’t make the money, and try to help.” Dash didn’t mention any names, but considering their history, he may be referring to former Roc-A-Fella artists.
“When I look at what happened between me and Jay, it’s like I blame Jay for letting it happen, but all the people that really made it happen are the ones that are… benefiting from him the most now. I was stopping them from getting money,” Dash told VIBE Editor-In-Chief Datwon Thomas. “My friendship comes before the business. Either way, unless [Jay-Z] was down with it, then it wouldn’t [have] happened.”
“Where I’m at now is that if Roc-A-Fella and the ones that weren’t billionaires want to get money on the right terms, I’m down. I’m telling you publicly I will [have the conversation]. And I’ve never not said that. But Jay’s never had that accountability to have that real conversation with me.”
The Harlemite soon began speaking to the current energy around Jay, insisting that his ex-business partner has morally problematic people in his circle. However, if Hov were to remove them and agree to make things right financially, they would be able to resolve their issues.
“There’s things – and I don’t want to get into it – that morally I can’t be a part of,” Dash added. “But if [Jay-Z] could just shed all the things that I don’t like morally, and all the people who have done things and are doing things that morally I can’t f*** with, [then] we could f*** with just family.”
“I always said as a man that we could always talk it up. Men should always be able to talk things up, but I’m really happy with my life right now. I know the world would love to see it and I’m down for it. If we could create something that inspires me, period. I don’t want to be f****** running on the stage, dancing around. I’m too chubby for that right now.”
